ANNOUNCING - Littleton - Enchanted Grounds - March 2016 PFS - CORE PFS

Hello everyone,

For March Core PFS at Enchanted Grounds in Littleton we are going to follow the same pattern we followed in February: the second Sunday and fourth Thursday. We had a lot of people sign up last month, but most of them no-showed their games, causing them to fail. Please be more considerate to your fellow gamer; when you sign up and no-show you are often causing people to lose their evenings. They may have prepared games, or shown up to play, and when a table misfires that messes up all those plans. It is, obviously, not a nice thing to do. If you cannot show up please give us plenty of notice so that other players and the GMs can be warned.

I have a GM for the 24th, but still need one for the 13th. Remember that Enchanted Grounds' GM credit offers are good for running games at both stores. You get the $10 gift certificate, I can get the module to you upon request, and after running 10 games you will get 7 days of 50% off purchases. Send me an email to let me know you want to GM.

For players, please remember that we are limited to 6 seats per table. Also recall that we collect $2 per game so that we can thank our GMs for their hard work. Please send an email to Jeff@EnchantedGrounds.com to claim seats at any game.

As for the 13th, I am saddened that no one but Ian wants to join that table (much less run it). Are Sundays not good? Would a Saturday game be better?

I would prefer 2nd & 4th Thursdays. If I'm not working on a Sunday I prefer to just stay home and relax.

Let me be clear about certain things:

1 - If we are to actually have a community of players, rather than the same six people over and over, games need to be available on the weekends. There WILL be a weekend game scheduled each month. The question is whether it should be on a Sunday or a Saturday. There are lots of people who will not be able to play on weeknights due to jobs; I encounter far more of them than I do of those who don't play on weeknights. Look at Highlands Ranch: the Saturday games are always full, while the Monday games are not.

2 - I will start scheduling two games per month on Thursdays when I get a consistent crowd. Out of 8 people signed up we had TWO show up last time. I can't even begin to describe how rude that is. The two players who showed up went home disappointed. The GM who put in all that work basically did so for nothing. And the table I set aside for use that night went unused when I could have given it to another reservation (which I very likely turned down, considering how busy that store is at night). Not one of those other six players contacted me to let me know they couldn't make it; they just didn't show up. Do they think no one else at that table deserves any courtesy? Until this changes, I will schedule one Thursday date, as I am not going to risk this happening multiple times, as people who sign up for one Thursday will no doubt sign up for the other Thursday.

3 - Without GMs, no games will get scheduled. There is no game tomorrow specifically because of this.

Now, understanding all of that, when do I schedule weekend games? Saturdays, or Sundays? Morning or afternoon?

I'm with Sunday afternoon. One a month I can do if I'm not working. I prefer afternoon - I like to sleep in a little late on Sundays or brunch with the wife.

It's a bummer there were 4 no-shows last Thursday. 

I would love to get in more play time, but Sundays, with rare exceptions, aren't a good day for me.  If it was on Saturday morning, I'd likely switch off between the Littleton and Highlands Ranch games.

So, I'm not sure my vote/voice should count as I couldn't commit on a monthly basis (regardless of which weekend day it was scheduled) as I generally can with Thursday nights.

I vote Sunday afternoon - same reason as Christian. I like to sleep in a bit, plus the commute time to Littleton means a 9am game is 7am wakeup time.

As for this weekend, I'm in the process of checking interest with some friends (and working on getting permission from the GF) to see if anyone wants to come for Sunday. If I can get the signoff from Danielle, I'd be ok with GMing that afternoon session. Unfortunately, this weekend is a little sketchy as I've already committed to Saturday at Collector Mania and with her still recovering from her surgery, she's a little depressed from not being able to go to any PFS, me having to have canceled my last 3 weeks of my home Rise of the Runelords, and a little jealous that I'm going to PFS without her!

Anyway, Jeff, I'll shoot you an email when I can give a firm commitment.
