On the topic of sources - are you planning to allow a free archetype? I haven't really experimented with archetypes yet but would like to.

Even if you don't have a Google account, you should still be able to access my slides. I'll PM you a link to one of my past game's set of slides. Let me know if you can at least see the pages. Feel free to click & play around and move stuff on it. Don't worry about wrecking anything (there is a useful "undo" button if you do). It's from an old Master of The Fallen Fortress game and not used anymore.

CRB and one or two sourcebooks you wish to use. For ease of play, the simpler the better. I don't want to have to research too many obscure feats, abilities, spells, etc...
No "free" archetypes, but you may take a multiclass archetype after level 1. (There's a big difference between free & multiclass archetypes, btw).

I decided on a character, a dwarf from Highheln a Champion (paladin) of Torag searching for the Ring of Torag, a family heirloom. That is as simple of a character as I can think of. I also considered an ancient elf cleric of Nethys with the wizard dedication. So I can either go martial or caster for the crown.

I've seen pretty frequently in PbP with adventure paths especially, the GM can allow the free archetype rules if they wish. Not legal in normal PFS games of course but in adventure mode it's an option if the GM allows it. I think the idea is just to give players a buff because some of these standalone adventurers can be hard to survive.

The game won't be starting until end of May or June. That's when the Paizo PbP Con ends which I'll be quite busy with. So, if you're around and better then, hopefully you can join us.

I've been thinking about possible characters, leaning towards an ancient elf champion of the Freeing Flame, revering Milani, with rogue dedication. With the Insurgent background, she's fought her fair share of kings in her day. She's lived in Falcon's Hollow for some time, trying to retire from her old life, but another tyrant threatening the place she has settled has other plans.
