The other way to deal with this is to add a signature block.
Go to the Profile heading in the top menu and select the Account Settings. Then go to the Modify Profile heading and select Forum Profile option and add your name to the signature block. That is where the funny quotes come from, like "All hail the squid wizard!" or "Lemmings leap survivor." Just trying to help out.
