Tim I hope some people start to sign up. I can GM table 2a.  I will already have maps drawn and prepped for a CORE version of The Frostfur Captives (#3-01) and it wouldn't be trouble at all to run that as non core for you that day.

I could run Silverhex Mausoleum and Mists, as I have played those two already. Then I can play the other three under another GM.

Hello -

Question on the Crypt of the Everflame adventure - is it PFS?  And are you OK with a first-time player?  I'm a long-time gamer (introduced to D&D via the Blue Box back in 1980 or so) but got away from tabletop RPGs in my 20s and 30s.  Have been playing Pathfinder via PbP for the last year and have been waiting for the right opportunity for a tabletop game...this seems perfect!  I've been reading over the PFS rules and what-not, and could bring a Level 1 character to the table.

Hoping this thread is the right place to ask these kinds of questions.  :)

Welcome to the forum, Rudy!
In answer to your question, yes.  All of the games at this event are PFS games.
As a footnote, several of us remember learning DND from the boxes  :=)

Yes, Crypt of the Everflame is Society legal

Absolutely, we love having new players join us!  We have a very friendly community that would love to help you figure out the ins and outs of Society play.

Crypt of the Everflame is a module for 1st and 2nd level characters, so a Level 1 character is perfect.  Have you already downloaded the Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play for guidelines on character creation?

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Yes, I've been reading the rules for character creation in PFS.  Downloaded a zip file from the Paizo site that had a few PDFs.  I also know I need to show I've purchased a copy of at least the core rule book (either Hard or Soft Copy) to play.  If I want more character options, i need to show I bought those books, too.  Smart, how they do that.  :)

Still trying to figure out if I can make it, but I wanted to get those questions out of the way.  Oh, one more, does it matter what type of character I create?

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

With your PDFs you may have a document called PFSAdditionalResources20150218, which was an update released 02/18/2015. This PDF will inform you of all "legal" or "not legal" features (traits, spells, magic items, racial items, etc) from various source books and additional materials.
There are several races that are closed, "locked out" or non-legal for PFS at this time, such as Aasimars and Teiflings. Some races, such as a Dhampir, may be created IF you have received a boon in a chronicle sheet that "opens" that race for you.

You can create just about any class that you can find the references for - classes are spread around multiple Pathfinder books, and there are several Pathfinder Player Companion books that also offer archetypes of common classes, such as a Viking archetype of the fighter class, from People of the North companion book.

And yes...some of us remember the old D&D where elves were always fighter/magic users, and there was a "negative" armor class table.

Hello -

If there is still room at the table, I would like to join the Crypt of the Everflame adventure next Saturday.

What time does the store open?

My real name is Ryan Randolph but I go by Rudy.

Please let me know if I need to provide anything else and thanks for putting this on - can't wait to see the game room!
