If I’m playing, I’m not normally a fan of Gunslingers, but I’d like to play the Buccaneer archetype. It’s very pirate, high seas oriented.

Yep, you're in, Tim. So is Doug. Never heard from those other two.
Buccaneer? Cool!

My bad. When I told my wife about this campaign, she lovingly reminded me of a few commitments I had that I completely forgot about. I’m not going to be able to sail the seas of Golarion after all. Sorry about the mixup-Tim

Surprised I got in, I am playing a 4th level magus.

Sorry guys, I just now saw these posts. As much as I would love to play, I understand if Christian needed to give my seat up. Damn new interface..

Chris,
I've made my PC Cavalier with a mount, not sure if I want to share with you... you know the same way you share with us monster stats if we fail perception checks and so forth, LOL
But I do have it ready!

Rafael,
Keep in mind this is a pirate/seafaring adventure. A mount will not do well - especially aboard a ship. As I mentioned before, look at the Daring Champion archetype of the cavalier. Or a swashbuckler and any of its archetypes.
(I prefer to go by Christian, btw.)
Cheers!

Re: Plunder & Peril mini-campaign; Jan, Feb, & March.
Doug,
If the magus you are playing is the magus you normally play in PFS, I would advise against playing it. You have plenty of freedom to create a custom, 4th level, pirate-themed PC for this campaign. You will be able to apply the chronicles to any of your main PFS PCs including your magus. However, you are more then welcome to play the magus, if you want.
Since this is "campaign mode", you can play any of the uncommon races normally needing a boon or are banned in PFS play. Goblins, sulis, vine/seaweed leshys, for example. Just ask for my approval & possible guidance first.
(I'm surprised nobody made a goblin pirate!)

Everyone,
Please take into mind the classes, archetypes, domains, skills, traits, etc... presented in The Skull & Shackles Player's Guide. It is a free download.
This is a high seas & swashbuckling style adventure. Please try to stick with the theme. Pop in those Pirates of the Caribbean movies for ideas!
Thank you & Happy New Year!
Christian
p.s. Pirate Movies!

I'm thinking of a melee-type fighter. Possibly Corsair, but someone already mentioned it. There are several possible builds. But I don't want to duplicate other characters, either. I am trying to keep the pirate theme.

A corsair fighter is good. No one else is doing that. I corrected that post a while ago and suggested a Daring Champion (cavalier archetype) to Rafael.
I'll take a peek at the corsair archetype.
Be sure to take a trait from the S&S player's guide.

Re: Plunder & Peril mini-campaign; Jan, Feb, & March.
Are you ok with me using an archtype from a book I don't have if I can provide the rules from an SRD or similar? The Corsair archtype is from 'Pirates of the Inner Sea' which I don't have a copy of. For 3-4 sessions, not sure if it's worth spending money on.
Does anyone have a copy of the book I could use during play?
Also, what are your thoughts on Aquatic Elves? SRD site lists them in Inner Sea World Guide but with unknown race points. Pretty much they are elves with a swim speed and can survive in water. Don't know if that's too broken or not.

Re: Plunder & Peril mini-campaign; Jan, Feb, & March.
Took me some time to find the corsair (Pirates of the Inner Sea). Go ahead & print out what you need. You could go with a cleave build but a slayer would be better especially with an underwater x-bow as a secondary ranged weapon. Or, even better, a slayer with a 1 level dip in swashbuckler to take advantage of light weapons/rapier & dex.
